Harry Potter Sorting Hat, Wand Cake!

So for those of you who don't know me very well, I am a MASSIVE Harry Potter fan. I read the books (yes, all of them) every year in Jan and I can quote potter lore with the best of them. So imagine my excitement when I was asked to make a Harry Potter cake... and that is all the instruction I got! I scoured the internet for hours looking for the perfect parts of lots of cake to incorporate into my own. I think I did a pretty good job! This cake is 99% edible - there is a skewer through the middle of the wand just for the purposes of making it look right. Even the sorting hat is made of cake!

Feeds about 45, $100.

NASA cake

My friend's boyfriend is obsessed with NASA. This cake was a surprise for his birthday! Its a brown butter cake with pineapple lime filling and coconut Italian buttercream icing (under the fondant!) Feeds 40.
As is, with the flavors and fillings, $100 for this cake.

Pink Roses Cake

I was asked to make a cake that was all things pink for a little girl's birthday. I did as directed! There are about 200 roses on this cake, by my count. Rolling roses is fun!

Feeds around 60 (its 4 inch, 6 inch and 8 inch tiers). $145.

1st birthday jungle/animal cake!

Can I mention how much I love all my animals on this cake? They took me a WHILE to do, but I think they are totally worth it! My favorite little guy is the zebra!
Cake feeds 65, priced at $150 because of all the detail work!

Cupcakes!

Cupcakes don't get featured here much on the blog, but I actually make as many, if not MORE of them than I do cakes. These are fancy-fied piped ones (which is why I took a picture), but usually I do plain swirly icing with sprinkles. I do, however, fill my cupcakes with delicious things if requested, and believe me, you want to request! These cupcakes are filled and specially frosted, so they would be $24 a dozen!

Buttercream Birthday Cake!

I really need to learn how to photograph my cakes better! This looked so much prettier in person!

This awesome woman who ordered this said she was sick and tired of her husband getting her terrible birthday cakes - so this year she was ordering her own! This is a 9 inch round, and feeds about 30, unless you are doing massive pieces, then it feeds about 20. $45.

Modern Boy Baby Shower Cake.

This cake was for my good college friend and co-worker, who had her baby a month early and left me high-and dry and the only person in our dept! :-) I will forgiver her though, since lil Jude is such a peach.

The bottom tier of this is actually a dummy (ie Fake Cake) but as is, it will feed about 45.
$125 with the dummy, $175 with real cake as the bottom tier (feeds about 80).
